Double Victory at “Auto Bild” Readers’ Choice: XPENG Named One of the “Best Brands in All Classes”

• Chinese high-tech company takes the lead in “Electric Drives”

Munich/Dielsdorf, 16 April 2026 – Triumph for XPENG: The high-tech company from Guangzhou (China) celebrates a double victory in the readers’ choice “The Best Brands in All Classes” by the renowned German magazine “Auto Bild”, achieving top placement in two important image categories. In the comparison of electric vehicles, XPENG was chosen as the brand with the best image, and in the “Large SUV” category, XPENG secured the title of “Best Price/Performance”. This result is particularly remarkable because XPENG, a young company founded only in 2014, was included in the competition for the first time.

The readers appreciate not only the excellent price/performance ratio, with which all XPENG models impress across segments thanks to full equipment, but especially our advanced electric drive. Double Victory at “Auto Bild” Readers’ Choice

After XPENG could not be considered in the last ranking because the brand had only just launched in Europe, it now jumps straight to the top. With 74.72 percent of the readers’ votes, XPENG took first place among vehicles with “Electric Drive”, ahead of key competitors from China and the USA.

In the “Large SUV” category, XPENG also secured the class victory for “Price/Performance”. The young tech brand achieved 58.09 percent of the readers’ votes, once again outperforming renowned competitors from Asia and America with premium aspirations. Responsible for XPENG’s success in this category is the flagship SUV G9 (power consumption 19.4 - 21.3 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions 0 g/km; energy efficiency category: C – combined values according to WLTP): With a wheelbase of nearly three meters, it not only offers plenty of space for the whole family but also impresses with brand hallmarks such as the advanced electric drive and standard full equipment.

For the 15th time, “Auto Bild” has determined the performance of the most important automotive brands in Germany in its current image study “The Best Brands in All Classes”. Around 50,000 readers participated in the poll and evaluated 52 manufacturers. Fourteen vehicle classes and an additional 19 image categories focusing on quality, design, and price/performance were assessed. According to “Auto Bild”, XPENG is one of the big winners of this year’s survey.

XPENG: Advanced Architecture, Extensive Standard Equipment

The flagship SUV XPENG G9, like the other currently offered models – the SUV coupé XPENG G6 (power consumption 16.8 - 18.4 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions 0 g/km; energy efficiency category: B/C – combined values according to WLTP) and the sporty family sedan XPENG P7+ (power consumption 15.2 - 17.4 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions 0 g/km; energy efficiency category: B/C – combined values according to WLTP) – is built on the next-generation 800-volt charging architecture.

It is combined with the industry’s first 5C LFP high-voltage battery. The lithium iron phosphate battery does not require rare minerals such as cobalt, manganese, or nickel, which ensures greater sustainability without compromising performance. Instead, XPENG models shine with rapid charging capabilities and short charging times: The XPENG G9, for example, charges at up to 525 kW, while the other two XPENG models also impress with peak values of up to 446 kW (XPENG P7+) and up to 451 kW (XPENG G6). As a result, the batteries are charged from 20 to 80 percent in just ten minutes.

Full equipment is also typical for XPENG: Depending on the model, the short options list is limited to metallic paint and an electrically swiveling tow bar; almost all other features are included as standard. These include, among others, the advanced XPILOT assistance systems, an electrically opening tailgate, a heat pump, and a two-zone automatic climate control system with air purification. The digital cockpit provides all necessary information to the occupants.

All XPENG models also benefit from a vehicle warranty of up to seven years and a maximum mileage of 160,000 kilometers. The high-voltage components are even covered by an eight-year warranty.
