Munich/Dielsdorf, July 21, 2026 – New entry into the XPENG family: With the XPENG L03 (combined energy consumption 15.3-18.4 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 0 g/km; energy efficiency category: B/C – combined values according to WLTP, subject to final homologation), the Chinese high-tech automotive brand expands its model range. The AI-defined SUV coupé, with which XPENG is introducing a new drive and equipment structure, was presented to the world public for the first time in Munich. Information on the start of orders in Switzerland will be announced shortly.
“L” for lively: The XPENG L03 is the most compact model of the high-tech brand to date. The newest family member is 4.65 meters long and 1.92 meters wide, yet offers space for up to five people. Despite its coupé-like roofline, passengers in the rear also enjoy ample headroom and freedom of movement. A spacious trunk and an additional “frunk” under the hood provide storage space for everyday use and travel.
XPENG makes no compromises when it comes to technology: The XPENG L03 impresses with modern AI-powered software, extensive comfort and safety features, and intelligent driving functions such as the XPENG Next Generation Pilot (NGP) based on the latest Vision-Language-Action System (VLA 2.0), enabling semi-autonomous driving. Based on a 400-volt architecture, the new XPENG L03 also charges at up to 236 kW – an excellent value in its class: This allows the high-voltage battery to be charged from 20 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes, and the all-electric range is up to 520 kilometers (WLTP combined for XPENG L03 Long Range Plus).
In addition to the pure electric variant, which is available in two power levels and battery sizes, there is, for the first time, a model with a range extender. The XPENG L03 REEV (this vehicle is not yet for sale, energy consumption values will be published upon homologation) offers up to 1,000 kilometers of range (WLTP combined) with a full tank and battery.
With its sporty-progressive design and balanced proportions, the new XPENG L03 exudes a strong sense of dynamism. The gently rising hood flows seamlessly into the inclined windshield and the roofline that slopes down to the rear. Every detail has been developed with maximum efficiency in mind: The optimized lines are reflected in a drag coefficient of 0.228 – making the new XPENG L03 one of the most aerodynamic vehicles in its class. The active air intake flaps in the front apron, which open as needed, also contribute to this result.
The front is characterized by boomerang-shaped LED headlights that extend into the flanks and bumper. Contoured wheel arches and increased ground clearance emphasize the robust SUV character, which is also noticeable in the elevated seating position. Additional highlights include frameless doors and exterior mirrors as well as the compact rear section with the 1.1 square meter rear window and an LED taillight strip in a star ring design. The XPENG L03 comes standard with 18-inch alloy wheels.
Five paint finishes are available for the exterior, emphasizing the powerful appearance of the new XPENG L03. In addition to the minimalist Arctic White, there are four metallic shades: Midnight Black, Rock Gray, Silver Frost, and the striking Phantom Purple, which offers a fascinating color gradient depending on the light. All colors harmonize with the black-tinted panoramic roof.
The interior of the XPENG L03 features high-quality materials, pleasant soft-touch surfaces, and a modern color scheme. The dashboard, the seemingly floating center console, and the door panels blend seamlessly into one another. Customers can choose between light and dark gray, both of which harmonize perfectly with the dark velour headliner.
The 1.30 m2 panoramic roof, which spans both rows of seats and, thanks to its double-layer silver coating, provides over 99.9 percent UV protection and more than 97 percent light protection, creates a bright and airy interior. At night and dusk, the ambient lighting with 256 colors creates a pleasant atmosphere and an interior architecture designed for well-being.
The comfortable front seats are electrically adjustable, heated, ventilated, and equipped with a memory function. The driver even benefits from lumbar support. The top model "Ultra" also features a massage function, raising comfort to the highest level on both short and long journeys. With a wheelbase of 2.85 meters, passengers in both the front and rear enjoy generous space, and even the rear seats offer ample headroom despite the coupé roofline.
The trunk holds 367 liters according to the VDA standard and can be expanded by folding down the rear seat, which is split 40:20:40. Tie-down loops and flexible hooks make securing the load easier. Additional storage space is provided by the "frunk" under the hood, which holds up to 89 liters (XPENG L03 RWD), the large storage compartment in the floating center console, and a spacious 10-liter compartment under the rear seats. An armrest with integrated cup holders increases comfort in the rear. Magnetic mounts and attachment options on the back of the front seats are also practical.
The XOPERA sound system ensures concert hall-quality music enjoyment, featuring nine high-end speakers – or even 18 in the XPENG L03 Ultra, some clad in brushed metal. In addition, there are two more speakers integrated into the driver's seat. This combination delivers clear sound and an immersive acoustic experience, which is especially impressive in combination with active noise cancellation (standard in Ultra). Navigation, calls, and music are played through separate audio zones to meet the different needs of driver and passengers.
A two-zone automatic climate control system with hidden micro air vents ensures a pleasant atmosphere on board. In combination with the intelligent air purification system Xfree Breath, particles are filtered out according to the PM2.5 standard, allowing passengers to breathe freely.
A hallmark of XPENG is the smart cockpit featured in every model. The XPENG L03 comes with three displays: In addition to a digital 8.9-inch instrument cluster behind the capacitive and heated microfiber steering wheel, there is a central 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen with 2.5K Ultra HD resolution, which, in addition to access to digital radio DAB, also enables intelligent navigation including charging planning with pre-selection of the preferred charging provider. The voice assistant is activated with "Hey XPENG" and supports multiple languages and natural speech.
Smartphones connected via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be charged wirelessly. An integrated cooling system in the charging tray prevents the mobile phone from overheating. Various USB C and A ports are also available on board.
The smart cockpit is completed by a 26.8-inch head-up display. It delivers all important information directly into the driver's natural field of vision. This allows hands to remain on the wheel and eyes on the road – ensuring maximum safety.
As a next-generation AI-defined SUV coupé, the XPENG L03 brings the intelligent innovations of XPENG's "Physical AI" mobility ecosystem to the road. The new model is based on XPENG's latest intelligent computing platform. The top version "Ultra" features the company's self-developed Turing AI chip, which delivers AI computing power of up to 750 tera operations per second (TOPS). Two of these chips are dedicated to the Vision-Language-Action System (VLA 2.0), and another to the smart interior.
The NGP (Next Generation Pilot) based on VLA 2.0 enables Level 2+ semi-automated driving in Switzerland (Europe-wide legal regulation expected from 01.01.2027). With powerful processors and radar sensors and cameras distributed around the vehicle, the next-generation platform enables improved perception and faster data processing of hazards and obstacles. Even complex traffic and road conditions are confidently mastered thanks to advanced technology: The XPENG L03 assists, for example, with smooth lane changes, safe cruising, and effortless parking.
Modern features such as automatic parking and unparking assistance, the 360-degree camera system, the reversing assistant, and the transparent chassis support the driver in everyday life. The parking assistant, which can also be conveniently controlled via the smartphone app, steers the vehicle into parking spaces both perpendicular and parallel to the road. This makes parking even in the smallest space a breeze.
Continuous over-the-air updates (OTA) ensure that the vehicle is constantly evolving and receives new functions throughout its entire lifecycle. This means the XPENG L03 continues to improve even after delivery.
Under the term "XPILOT", XPENG also bundles an arsenal of more than 13 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) that support the driver in various situations. This can ideally prevent accidents altogether or at least mitigate their consequences.
These systems include, among others, emergency braking, blind spot and lane change assist, collision and cross-traffic warning, as well as a "door opening" warning. The high beam assistant automatically switches between low and high beam, ensuring perfect road illumination at dusk and in the dark. The adaptive cruise control anticipates traffic lights and speed limits, keeping the vehicle centered in its lane. The top model L03 Ultra even changes lanes automatically.
In the event of an emergency, seven airbags and a safety cage made of ultra-high-strength steel protect the occupants. The vehicle is also equipped with a multi-layer battery protection system that withstands even extreme conditions such as high pressure and water.
With the combination of active and passive safety systems, depending on the equipment, the XPENG L03 achieves a safety level equivalent to the top rating of five stars in the crash test of the independent and globally recognized testing organization Euro NCAP (an official rating is still pending at the time of market launch).
The XPENG L03 is based on a 400-volt architecture and impresses with an excellent charging capacity of up to 236 kW, reducing the charging time from 20 to 80 percent to 18 minutes (ten to 80 percent in 20 minutes).

With two motors on the front and rear axles, the XPENG L03 AWD Performance accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The top speed is limited to 180 km/h in all drive variants.
All drive variants share a small turning circle. McPherson struts are used at the front, and a multi-link axle at the rear. Various driving modes increase comfort and allow for individualization according to the driver's preferences.
The Vehicle-to-Load function (V2L) also turns the XPENG L03 into a mobile power bank: External devices such as e-bikes and more can be supplied with up to 6 kW of electricity.
Comprehensive standard equipment is typical for XPENG, and the XPENG L03 is no exception: In addition to 18-inch alloy wheels, the SUV coupé comes standard with electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated front seats, electrically adjustable, folding and heated exterior mirrors, LED headlights and taillights, a sound system with nine speakers and two additional speakers in the driver's seat, smart navigation, two-zone automatic climate control, and the intelligent air purification system Xfree Breath with PM2.5 particle filtration.
The digital cockpit provides occupants with all necessary information via large displays – digital instrument display, central touchscreen, and head-up display. Ambient lighting and a panoramic roof are also standard features.
Also typical for the brand is the standard heat pump, which ensures efficient temperature control of the interior and thus contributes to high range efficiency. The tailgate opens electrically. The app-controlled intelligent parking assistant takes care of parking.
With the top model "Ultra", which is only available with the 285 kW/388 hp electric drive and all-wheel drive, XPENG paves the way for autonomous driving: Thanks to the advanced Turing AI chips and the Next Generation Pilot (NGP), the XPENG L03 AWD Performance Ultra is semi-autonomous at Level 2+ in Switzerland (Europe-wide legal regulation expected from 01.01.2027).
The Ultra equipment is completed by 20-inch alloy wheels with yellow-accented brake calipers, the XOPERA sound system with 18 high-end speakers, and a massage function for the front seats. The autonomous lane change assistant increases comfort, as does active noise cancellation.
