Samstagern, 23 October 2026 – Top honours for the XPENG G9 (combined energy consumption 18.4-20.1 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 0 g/km; CO2 class: A): The all-electric premium SUV has been nominated as «Swiss Car of the Year 2027». The prestigious award is decided as part of a public vote via online voting. Now it’s time to vote and keep our fingers crossed!
Innovative technologies, ultra-fast charging and first-class comfort: The XPENG G9 embodies the Chinese high-tech automotive brand’s ambition to make electric mobility suitable for everyday use and accessible to as many people as possible.
The premium SUV, which is just under 4.89 metres long and can be ordered in Switzerland from CHF 59'600,-, combines striking design with generous space. With a wheelbase of just under three metres, up to five occupants enjoy plenty of room both front and rear. Combined with a 660-litre boot and an additional 71-litre frunk under the bonnet, comfortable and convenient travel is guaranteed. This is also supported by the extensive standard equipment, which includes heated seats, a heated steering wheel, two-zone climate control with an intelligent air purification system that effectively filters out pollen and pollutants to PM2.5 standard, and an additional 14.96-inch entertainment screen for the front passenger.
The technical heart of the XPENG G9 is an 800-volt charging architecture, paired with a 5C lithium iron phosphate battery (LFP) with a capacity of 79 kWh (Standard Range) or 93.1 kWh (Long Range/AWD Performance). The high-voltage battery does not use rare minerals such as cobalt, manganese or nickel, underlining XPENG’s commitment to greener electric mobility without compromising on performance or safety.
Customers can choose between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, with outputs ranging from 258 kW/351 hp to 423 kW/575 hp and a range of up to 585 kilometres (combined WLTP for XPENG G9 RWD Long Range). With a charging capacity of up to 525 kW, the 5C LFP high-voltage battery can be charged from ten to 80 percent in twelve minutes at compatible charging stations. Around ten minutes is enough for more than 450 additional kilometres of range – all best-in-class figures for SUVs of this class and size. Thanks to the standard V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) function, external devices can also be powered.
“The XPENG G9 impressively demonstrates what our brand stands for: intelligent technologies, outstanding comfort and electric mobility that inspires. We are very pleased that our G9 is in the running for Swiss Car of the Year 2027 in the public vote. We are excited to see the decision of the Swiss public,” says Diego Battiston, CEO XPENG Schweiz.
In the public vote for «Swiss Car of the Year 2027», drivers and car enthusiasts have the opportunity to choose their personal favourite until 22 November. The online voting can be found here https://schweizer-auto-des-jahres.ch/
