Samstagern, 26. August 2026 – A new addition to the Swiss XPENG family: the all-electric XPENG X9 van (combined energy consumption 20.2-20.8 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 0 g/km; energy efficiency category: B – combined values according to WLTP, subject to final homologation) now expands the model range of the Chinese high-tech brand. The seven-seat MPV “Multi-Purpose Vehicle”, which is already available in the online configurator, is launching in Switzerland with prices starting at CHF 77‘600.
The XPENG X9, which is just under 5.32 metres long, arrives in a 2-2-3 seating configuration: with a wheelbase of 3.16 metres, up to seven occupants enjoy luxurious comfort. The individual seats with massage function in the first two rows offer generous head, leg and shoulder room and are also heated, ventilated and electrically adjustable 14 ways.
The Zero-Gravity comfort seats in the second row can even be reclined by 180 degrees, creating a near-flat position. A ten-point massage function with six integrated programmes also provides spa-like relaxation on the move. In the third row, there is a 60:40 electrically split rear bench: the “Easy Entry” function, which moves the second row electrically forward by up to 1,100 millimetres, makes getting in and out easy.
The space on offer is completed by a boot that holds 721 litres with all seats in use. If the third row is folded down electrically, the storage volume increases to more than 2,550 litres. The side sliding doors open electrically, as does the tailgate.
Aerodynamic design, long range
A futuristic design with clean lines and optimised aerodynamics defines the look. In combination with details such as the active air intake flaps, the XPENG X9 achieves a drag coefficient of cW = 0.236 that is low for this vehicle class, contributing to consumption figures from 20.2 kWh/100 km.
The high-tech van is based on the brand’s signature 800-volt architecture. It guarantees a high range of up to 615 kilometres (WLTP combined for XPENG X9 FWD Long Range) and ultra-short charging times. Thanks to a charging capacity of up to 542 kW, the battery charges from ten to 80 percent within twelve minutes – a top figure in the industry and vehicle segment.
Two battery sizes as well as front-wheel and all-wheel drive are available:
XPENG X9 FWD Standard Range: with 94.8 kWh LFP battery, 235 kW/320 hp front-wheel drive and up to 535 kilometres of range (WLTP combined) from CHF 77‘600
XPENG X9 FWD Long Range: with 110 kWh NMC battery, 235 kW/320 hp front-wheel drive and up to 615 kilometres of range (WLTP combined) from CHF 81‘600 Euro
XPENG X9 AWD Performance: with 110 kWh NMC battery, 370 kW/503 hp all-wheel drive and up to 580 kilometres of range (WLTP combined) from CHF 86‘600 Euro
In combination with the standard rear-wheel steering, the XPENG X9 offers maximum agility regardless of the drivetrain: its turning circle is a compact-car-like 10.8 metres. Assistance systems such as the intelligent AI-controlled parking and unparking assist, the 360-degree camera system and the transparent chassis further simplify manoeuvring.
Further comfort while driving is promised by the also standard intelligent suspension system: it detects road irregularities up to 30 metres ahead and, in conjunction with the two-chamber air suspension, adjusts damping in real time to road conditions.
Comprehensive standard equipment, extensive warranties
Like all XPENG models, the new XPENG X9 already comes in the entry-level Standard Range version with extensive standard equipment that covers almost every wish. Always on board in the seven-seat luxury van are, among other things, 20-inch alloy wheels, the premium sound system with 27 speakers, smart navigation and multi-zone climate control including intelligent Xfree Breath air purification with PM2.5-standard particle filtration. Typical of the brand is also the standard heat pump, which contributes to efficient temperature control of the interior and thus to the high range.
The digital cockpit provides occupants with all necessary information via large-format displays: in addition to a digital instrument display behind the heated ultra-fibre steering wheel, the van features a central 17.3-inch touchscreen, a 21-inch head-up display and a 21.4-inch Ultra-3K-HD entertainment screen in the rear, mounted in the roof lining. In combination with the company’s in-house XP5 Turing AI Chip, the intelligent computing platform ensures lightning-fast responsiveness.
Powerful processors and a total of 27 sensors, radars and cameras distributed around the vehicle ensure safety. They form the basis for the XPILOT assistance systems, which include emergency braking, blind-spot and lane-change assist, high-beam assist, traffic sign recognition, door opening warning and cross-traffic alert. If an accident does occur, nine airbags, the safety cage made of up to 2,000 MPa ultra-high-strength steel and multi-layer battery protection provide protection.
Among the few optional extras available are an electrically swivelling tow bar (CHF 1‘260) and the metallic paint finishes Silver Frost, Diamond Black (CHF 1‘000) and Matte Grey (CHF 1‘500).
The new XPENG X9 comes with a vehicle warranty of seven years or 160,000 km and an eight-year warranty on the high-voltage battery (up to 160,000 km). Further information can be found at https://xpeng-cars.ch/.
