- Experienced automotive executive to take over management as of April 1, 2026
- Various senior positions for different importers
- Further establishment of XPENG in Switzerland and expansion of the partner network
Dielsdorf, 20 March 2026 – Diego Battiston will become the new CEO of Hedin Distribution AG: In this role, the Swiss national with Italian roots will lead the Chinese high-tech electric vehicle brand XPENG in Switzerland starting April 1, 2026. Battiston succeeds Ernst Ramic, who oversaw the market launch in Switzerland and is leaving the company at his own request.
Battiston has more than 20 years of experience in the automotive industry. He has held various positions at importers such as Alcadis, Hyundai, and Stellantis in Switzerland, serving as Managing Director at Hyundai for many years. Most recently, he worked for the local branch of the premium brand Genesis, which he joined shortly after its operational launch, where he was responsible for business operations as Head of Sales and later as Regional Operations Manager. He is now making the move to XPENG.
“XPENG is currently one of the most exciting automotive brands: With long ranges, ultra-short charging times, and a comprehensive standard equipment package that leaves almost nothing to be desired, the models of the Chinese high-tech brand stand out. At the same time, the AI technologies are also used beyond the road – for example, in humanoid robots and flying cars. I am delighted to lead XPENG in Switzerland and to further advance it together with the great team,” says Battiston.
“With Diego Battiston, we have gained an experienced automotive executive as our new CEO. He is highly knowledgeable about premium brands and electromobility, which, combined with his strategic mindset and pragmatic leadership skills, makes him the ideal choice for XPENG in Switzerland. Supported by new models and advanced technologies, we aim to establish and promote the Chinese high-tech brand here in Switzerland,” explains Jacob Lindblad, COO Import Operations at Hedin Mobility Group. “A big thank you goes to Ernst Ramic, who made the successful market launch of XPENG in Switzerland possible.”
