Munich, 25 July 2025 – XPENG is redefining electric mobility. With the latest version of the XPENG G9 (combined energy consumption 18.4–20.1 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 0 g/km; CO2 class: A), the Chinese high-tech car brand is setting new standards in charging speed, innovation, and sustainability. In the fourth quarter of 2025, the flagship SUV will arrive in Switzerland at unchanged entry-level prices starting at 59,600 CHF (MSRP incl. 8.1% VAT).

“The new XPENG G9 is not just an SUV, it’s a statement on wheels,” says He Xiaopeng, CEO and Chairman of XPENG. “Every detail reflects our tireless pursuit of elegance, innovation, and ecological leadership.”

Pure beauty

The XPENG G9 remains true to itself. In the tradition of its predecessor, the large SUV focuses on innovations that make everyday life easier. The new edition presents itself with a more striking yet minimalist design. At the front, a newly designed grille combines a geometric pattern with a discreetly integrated 3D millimetre-wave radar. The now standard 20-inch alloy wheels round off the sporty and confident appearance.

Elegantly concealed door handles combine form with function. Together with various options such as the ultra-wideband vehicle key (UWB), smartphone key, and a standard NFC key card, they create a seamless premium access experience. In addition, the soft-close doors close gently and quietly, while the sensor-controlled tailgate opens electrically – perfect when returning from shopping with full hands.

Those opting for the optional “Black Edition” (surcharge: 1,500 CHF in combination with AWD Performance) receive an independent, black-accented design. Alongside the Midnight Black paintwork, various trim elements as well as the logo and lettering are finished in black. The standard dark 21-inch alloy wheels reveal orange brake callipers.

Lithium iron phosphate battery (LFP) – a first in this class

At the heart of the new XPENG G9 is the industry’s first lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, with a capacity of 79 kWh (Standard Range) or 93.4 kWh (Long Range/AWD Performance). The high-voltage battery does not use rare minerals such as cobalt, manganese, or nickel, underscoring XPENG’s commitment to more environmentally friendly e-mobility without compromising performance or safety.

Based on the 800-volt architecture, the flagship SUV offers ultra-fast charging and ranges suitable for everyday use. With industry-leading charging power of up to 525 kW, the 5C LFP high-voltage battery can be charged from ten to 80 percent in twelve minutes at compatible stations. Around ten minutes is enough for more than 450 additional kilometres of range.

At its peak, the new XPENG G9 travels up to 585 kilometres (WLTP combined) before needing a short charging stop. High efficiency also plays a role in this long range: with consumption values starting at 18.4 kWh per 100 kilometres (WLTP combined with XPENG G9 RWD Standard Range), the SUV achieves top values for vehicles of its class and size.

Drive options remain a choice between rear-wheel and all-wheel drive. Offered are:

  • XPENG G9 RWD Standard Range: with 258 kW/351 hp and up to 502 kilometres range (WLTP combined) at prices from 59,600 CHF (MSRP incl. 8.1% VAT)
  • XPENG G9 RWD Long Range: with 258 kW/351 hp and up to 585 kilometres range (WLTP combined) at prices from 63,600 CHF (MSRP incl. 8.1% VAT)
  • XPENG G9 AWD Performance: with 423 kW/575 hp (165 kW/224 hp front and 258 kW/351 hp rear) and up to 540 kilometres range (WLTP combined) at prices from 72,600 CHF (MSRP incl. 8.1% VAT)

Thanks to the standard V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) function, external devices can also be powered.

Driving fun with safety included

XPENG-developed Taichi hydraulic bushings, Bosch’s IPB brake-by-wire system, and the domain-specific EPB controller ensure precise handling and strong braking performance. The XPENG G9 offers excellent driving dynamics thanks to independent suspension – double wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear. As AWD Performance, it comes with intelligent dual-chamber air suspension and electromagnetically adjustable dampers. These not only adjust the ground clearance by up to 100 millimetres but also improve variable stiffness by 50 percent and cornering stability by 30 percent.

Tailored for maximum travel comfort

Inside, the new XPENG G9 redefines the luxury EV experience. The interior is a showcase of tranquillity, craftsmanship, and intelligent technologies. Customers can choose from four colour themes, including the new “Coffee Brown.” Nearly all surfaces (95 percent) are covered with soft-touch materials, offering a high-quality look and feel.

As a companion for the whole family, the more than 4.89-metre-long XPENG flagship SUV combines generous space with maximum comfort. Even in the rear, passengers enjoy excellent legroom with a wheelbase of nearly three metres, as well as class-leading headroom.

Heated synthetic leather seats, with ventilation standard at the front and optional at the rear, ensure comfortable travel on both short and long trips. The driver always benefits from lumbar support. Rear passengers can adjust the backrest angle electrically in ten stages, allowing them to sit and relax as comfortably as on a home sofa. A triple-silvered panoramic glass roof, unique in this segment, blocks 99.99 percent of UV rays and lowers the cabin temperature by up to eight degrees Celsius in strong sunlight.

With the optional Premium Package (surcharge: 3,960 CHF), Nappa leather seats with 26 mm slow-rebound foam and twelve-layer ergonomic design are included. The integrated ten-point Shiatsu massage function for the front and outer rear seats was developed together with orthopaedists for maximum comfort. The package also includes ventilated outer rear seats, a two-way adjustable thigh support for the driver, a four-way adjustable lumbar support and two-way leg support for the front passenger, as well as a thigh cushion in the rear. The Dynaudio XOPERA Dolby Atmos sound system ensures top-level acoustics; the total of 21 speakers includes one integrated into the driver’s headrest.

Additional comfort comes from the excellent noise levels: when stationary, the interior of the XPENG G9 measures just 35 decibels, while on the move it is 53.9 decibels – both top values in class and industry comparison.

The boot now holds 660 litres as standard and can be expanded to 1,576 litres by folding down the 60:40 split rear seat. Additional storage is offered by the 71-litre “frunk” under the bonnet.

Connected and fully equipped

Like every model from the Chinese high-tech brand, the XPENG G9 is fully connected. Thanks to the NVIDIA Orin-X processor and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, the Xmart OS infotainment system provides fast and intuitive access to intelligent navigation, which also includes pre-planning charging stops with preconditioning of the high-voltage battery, DAB+ digital radio, and numerous functions and apps. Smartphones can be integrated into the vehicle via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

In addition to a 10.25-inch digital display behind the steering wheel providing the driver with all key information, there is a 14.96-inch central touchscreen and an equally large entertainment display for the front passenger. Alongside touch control, operation is also possible in German via the “Hey XPENG” voice assistant. Many functions can also be remotely controlled via the XPENG App – including parking in and out. Regular over-the-air updates keep the XPENG G9 and its software up to date even after delivery.

The wide range of XPILOT assistance systems also supports the driver in everyday life. These include adaptive cruise control, an autonomous emergency braking assistant with predictive distance monitoring and collision warning, traffic sign recognition, active lane-change assistant, adaptive cornering assistant, intelligent high beam assistant, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, and a door opening warning that prevents so-called “dooring” accidents: before getting out, occupants are warned of approaching traffic from behind – helping to avoid collisions with suddenly opened doors.

Equipped with a forward-facing binocular camera and a rear-view camera, the XPENG Full-Stack Lofic architecture improves environmental perception across a variety of driving scenarios and adapts seamlessly to bright and dark conditions. The field of vision has been expanded by 125 percent and can accurately detect and distinguish 49 types of obstacles – both dynamic and static.

As is typical, the comprehensive standard equipment is also impressive. On the short options list, in addition to the Black Edition and the Premium Package, there are only the electrically swivelling tow bar (surcharge 1,260 CHF) and metallic paint finishes (from 1,000 CHF). The XPENG G9 RWD versions can also be equipped with 21-inch wheels with Michelin tyres (1,260 CHF), which are standard on the AWD Performance.

The new XPENG G9 comes with a vehicle warranty of seven years or 160,000 km, as well as an eight-year warranty on the high-voltage battery (up to 160,000 km).
