Munich, 2 July 2025 – Start the charging process from a distance or automatically precondition the interior: with the latest update, XPENG is expanding the functionality of its smartphone app. The Chinese high-tech car brand is thereby improving comfort and the user experience for XPENG owners.
Drivers of XPENG vehicles need not worry about range. Depending on model, drive, and battery capacity, the vehicles achieve up to 576 kilometres on a single charge (WLTP combined for XPENG P7 RWD Long Range – combined energy consumption 16.8–19.2 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 0 g/km; CO2 class: A) – fully electric and locally emission-free.
With the new XPENG App 3.0, users can now check the battery’s state of charge at a glance – anytime, anywhere via remote access. This means you can decide at the breakfast table whether a spontaneous trip to the seaside can begin immediately or if a charging stop is required.
A consumption trend overview also shows electricity use over the last hours, days, and weeks, helping XPENG drivers see when they were driving most efficiently.
Charging itself becomes even easier with the update: the XPENG app now provides real-time information on charging stations across Europe – including availability and local tariffs. The charging process can also be initiated and scheduled via smartphone. This allows charging to begin automatically at a set time, which is especially practical for home wallboxes. The charge limit function also lets users define the maximum capacity.
Users can also monitor charging performance in real time, an area where XPENG models are traditionally leaders. In independent ADAC tests, the XPENG G6 recently recorded a charging peak of 273 kW and an average charging power of 198.5 kW at fast-charging stations – both top values compared to industry standards.
The XPENG app also displays parking duration – and ensures comfort inside the car. Smartphone users can now pre-set their desired temperature at different times. At 8 a.m., the interior will be preheated; by the end of the workday, the cabin will be pleasantly climatized. The interior temperature can also be checked remotely at any time.
The familiar app features remain unchanged: the intelligent parking assistant, which allows the XPENG to be remotely driven forwards or backwards into a space, and the digital car key, which enables the smartphone to replace the traditional key for door opening and engine start. The digital key can be shared with up to five people.
Update 3.0 is rounded out by a more modern app design: the modular layout adapts to different scenarios while offering maximum flexibility and customization. Quick access, adjustable to personal preferences, makes operation and navigation of key functions easier.
Interactive widgets for the home or lock screen deliver information and notifications without needing to open the app. For the first time, vehicle functions can also be controlled via Apple Watch.
When starting the XPENG app, users are greeted by a 3D animation of their model. The available “Dark” mode darkens the display – not only adding visual appeal but also reducing eye strain, particularly at dusk and in the dark.
