XPENG Wins Best Value for Money in “Auto Bild” Comparison Test

• SUV Coupé impresses with spacious interior and high-end features at an attractive price

Dielsdorf, November 29, 2024 – The XPENG G6 (combined energy consumption: 17.5–17.9 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 0 g/km; CO₂ class: A) has been named the best value-for-money winner: In the latest comparison test by Auto Bild magazine (issue 48/2024), the all-electric SUV coupé from the Chinese high-tech automaker takes the top spot in its class.

XPENG’s latest model offered in Germany impresses with a well-rounded package. “The G6 fits the mid-size crossover segment, offers 285 hp with a 570-kilometer WLTP range, a clean and understated design, plenty of space, extensive features – all for a base price under €50,000,” state the testers from the renowned automotive magazine right from the start.

But it’s not just the price that gives the XPENG G6 the edge over similarly styled all-electric competitors like the Cupra Tavascan and Kia EV6. The XPENG also stands out with high payload and towing capacity, along with excellent interior space. “Rear passengers enjoy a similar airy feeling as those in the front, and with up to 1,374 liters of cargo space, it accommodates more luggage than the Kia and Cupra,” the magazine reports.

The model-specific highlights are complemented by XPENG’s brand strengths, such as long range and ultra-fast charging, which apply to all XPENG vehicles. “Thanks to its 280 kW charging capacity, the vehicle charges quickly [...] and its lower weight results in lower energy consumption compared to the competition.” XPENG also stands out with its comprehensive warranty of 7 years or 160,000 kilometers, which sets it apart from rivals.

In the three-way battle of electric coupés, the XPENG G6 outperforms its competitors in body design, drivetrain, and cost. The result: a best value-for-money title and a strong second place overall – missing the top spot by just five points.

“After our flagship XPENG G9 won its first comparison test in Germany in October, the G6 SUV coupé now follows up with a best value-for-money win against established competitors,” says Markus Schrick, Managing Director of Xpeng Motors (Germany) GmbH. “These extensive tests and analyses by independent automotive journalists demonstrate the strength of our XPENG models. Like all models from the Chinese high-tech automaker, the XPENG G6 comes fully equipped as standard. Included are full LED headlights, heated and auto-dimming side mirrors, a heated leather multifunction steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, and a digital cockpit that offers access to a variety of music, video, entertainment, and social media apps.

Passengers enjoy adjustable, heated, and – in the front – ventilated seats. The XPENG G6 also offers a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems. Its coupé-like design, combined with aerodynamic features like an active grille shutter and flush door handles, contributes to excellent aerodynamics and, therefore, high range.
