These high-voltage batteries withstand even the harshest conditions.

The XPENG G6 serves as an impressive example of this advanced battery technology. The SUV coupé is built on the Smart Electric Platform Architecture (SEPA) 2.0, developed in-house by the Chinese high-tech automotive brand. This modular platform provides flexibility for different lengths, wheelbases, and body types, while also serving as the foundation for the 800-volt system. This allows for high performance and short charging times, with relatively low weight.

The high-voltage batteries are integrated directly into the platform, lowering the vehicle’s center of gravity and improving handling. A triple-layer “sandwich” design offers maximum protection: an anti-collision structure with eight special zones effectively dissipates crash forces and can withstand pressure up to 80 tons. The batteries are also protected from heat and water. IP68-certified, they can endure submersion in up to one meter of water for 48 hours. Multiple fireproof and water-resistant layers prevent moisture intrusion and maintain stable operating temperatures.

The XPENG G6 SUV coupé uses cutting-edge 800-volt technology. Two battery options are available, offering practical range: a 66 kWh LFP battery and an 87.5 kWh NMC battery. The XPENG G6 RWD Long Range offers up to 570 km of range (WLTP combined) on a single charge. With ultra-fast charging of up to 280 kW, the high-voltage battery can charge from 20% to 80% in about 15 minutes. Just five minutes of charging provides over 100 km of additional range.

Every XPENG model comes standard with a heat pump, delivering dual benefits: it quickly creates a comfortable interior climate without significantly impacting efficiency and range – especially appreciated on cold days. It also preheats the battery before fast charging and improves heat dissipation. This intelligent thermal management ensures high range and short charging times, for which XPENG is renowned.

Independent tests from the Norwegian Automobile Federation (NAF), German ADAC, and various automotive media regularly confirm the brand’s strong performance.

An innovative 4-in-1 control structure continuously monitors the battery’s cell modules. Voltage spikes, extreme temperatures, and other long-term risks to battery health are detected and mitigated. This gives XPENG drivers long-term peace of mind.

A comprehensive battery warranty of 8 years or 160,000 km also speaks to the brand’s confidence in its technology. XPENG guarantees that the battery capacity (State of Health, SOH) will not drop below 70% during this period.
